Hello, hello! Hope you’ve been doing well.
This post is being written completely off the dome. Freestyled. So much so that I didn’t do the usual outline and multiple drafts, which technically makes it the most unhinged issue of The Ledbetter Newsletter.
If we’re not careful things may turn up to a 3.8 — maybe even a 4.
You’ve been warned.
Announcing a new project…
Frequent readers of this newsletter may have caught wind of an experimental short film I’ve been working on called Skin Memoria.
I’m happy to announce that the first installment is completed! We’re figuring out the release strategy but I wanted to offer you, my beloved readers, a first look at the key art for the film:
There are going to be other supplemental material like new music, poetry, short essays, and visual art. I’ve never done anything like this before and I am genuinely giddy about finally inviting you into it.
More to come very soon!
TURN UP CHECK-IN:
Launching Skin Memoria a huge deal for me so I’m personally at a Level 7 turn up. However, I understand it might not be a big deal for you yet, so let’s offset to a 3.
Another banger podcast episode…
Mia and I released a new episode of the podcast, and we did things a little different than usual. Rather than interview a guest, we riff on our spiciest HOT TAKES. I think it’s one of my favorite episodes because it was super fun to just spill tea and pop off. We even get a little reckless. Join us!

TURN UP CHECK-IN:
Honestly, given how fun the podcast episode is, I’m reading the newsletter at a Level 5 turn up right now. Keep reading if you think you can handle it.
Wait… More Skin Memoria exclusives?!
Another piece of Skin Memoria is a full album of new music that I think really pushes the limits of what I’ve done in the past. Here’s a demo of one of the tracks currently called, “When I Was Unmade”.
TURN UP CHECK-IN:
Alright, the turn up meter is clocking in at a solid Level 8. I think that’s enough. Go treat yourself to a snack and a nap.
It means so much to me that you’ve read this. For real. Subscribe and I’ll be in touch soon with more on Skin Memoria and other great projects!
